In case anyone is not on our mailing list - below is the email that went out this morning. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful team, and am touched by the many messages of support coming in following last night's airing of Goldhawk Live on RogersTV. Now on to four more days of non stop hard work to keep pressing our message of Be Healthy, Be Mobile, Be Engaged to close out the most important week of them all!
The home stretch is here! Our campaign for new leadership picked up a lot of momentum on Tuesday when our largest newspaper, The Toronto Star, endorsed Bryan for the City Council seat in Ward 40. In their own words …
“Fresh thinking and original perspectives are essential given the financial challenges and broad public frustration left behind by the departing council. More city-builders are needed in office — energetic people capable of co-operation and inspiration.”
In Ward 40 Scarborough Agincourt:
“Well-spoken Bryan Heal, a worker at a non-profit agency helping children and youth, deserves a chance to show what he can do.”
Endorsements aside, Bryan delivered a poised performance on Rogers TV yesterday evening. Expecting to debate the issues, the incumbent backed out leaving Bryan with a full half hour of prime time to elaborate on his platform and take live calls from Ward 40 voters. In an election where talking about civic engagement and supporting more people to get involved and be informed is key - showing up to discuss the tough issues is one of most important things any candidate can do. We are proud to announce that since the end of the show at 8:30pm last night we have already received several messages of support from residents who have decided to vote for Bryan based on his televised dialogue on the issues of Ward 40.
Only 4 days left
These final days are where undecided voters are making up their mind – and every moment, every canvass, and every flier dropped is crucial. So if you have any time at all, if even a couple hours to help spread the word from Thursday-Sunday, and then for the biggest volunteer effort of the year on Election Day – please write us at email@example.com or give us a call at 416-760-2938.
A huge thank you is in order to everyone who came out to our fundraiser at the So-Go Sportsbar last week and jubilantly assisted with carrying us through this election period home stretch. While we have raised almost everything we need, we will still need about $2000 more to help cover the audit process and close out the campaign. If you've been considering making a donation to the campaign – there is still time and the City of Toronto offers a fantastic rebate program! All donations of $25 to $300 will qualify you for a rebate cheque of 75% cash back. All information on how to donate to the campaign on this final weekend can be found at www.bryanheal.com
Now let’s get back to work!
